I always thought she was gorgeous as heck on the show.  I found these pictures of her on the net and I was like wow! New Parents – Jennifer Hudson and David Otunga aka Punk

It’s a baby boy for Jennifer Hudson and fiancé David Otunga. The couple, whose wedding plans are still unknown, welcomed the baby on Monday and named him David Daniel.  Baby David came in at a healthy 7 pounds, 14 ounces.

Hudson kept the details of the pregnancy private and never officially announced the pregnancy to the public, instead she just let her fans figure it out as she filled out. She also chose not to find out the sex of the child beforehand.

Short-term memory getting worse? Exercise getting harder? Examine your diet. New research published online in The FASEB Journal showed that in less than 10 days of eating a high-fat diet, rats had a decreased ability to exercise and experienced significant short-term memory loss. These results show an important link between what we eat, how we think, and how our bodies perform.

Andrew Murray, co-author of the study and currently at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom and colleagues studied rats fed a low-fat diet (7.5 percent of calories as fat) and rats fed a a high-fat diet (55 percent of calories as fat).

The researchers discovered that the muscles of the rats eating the high-fat diet for four days were less able to use oxygen to make the energy needed to exercise, causing their hearts to worker harder—and increase in size. After nine days on a high-fat diet, the rats took longer to complete a maze and made more mistakes in the process than their low-fat-diet counterparts. Researchers then investigated the cellular causes of these problems, particularly in the mitochondria of muscle cells. They found increased levels of a protein called uncoupling protein 3, which made them less efficient at using oxygen needed to make the energy required for running.

“It’s nothing short of a high-fat hangover,” said Gerald Weissmann, M.D., Editor-in-Chief of The FASEB Journal. “A long weekend spent eating hotdogs, French fries, and pizza in Orlando might be a great treat for our taste buds, but they might send our muscles and brains out to lunch.”

I’m guilty of the high-fat hangover myself because I love eating junk over the weekend – especially after partying.  Try to limit junk/high fat foods to one day out of the weekend.  It will well be worth it.  Love your body.

I was watching Good Day Chicago one morning and found out there was a website called www.bestparking.com that allows you to choose a city/neighborhood of your choice, and in turn, you will receive a map of where you can park.  You must indicate your estimated arrival and departure time.  A map will appear which displays the parking rates for the different garages, or blocks so that you can decide which area will be the cheapest to park.  As Chicagoans, parking is b*tch in the city, so I thought you Chicago folks may find this website useful. This is a nationwide site so it is a tool that I will definitely use while traveling (not only limited to Chicago)!

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — A man arrested at the site of President Barack Obama’s New Hampshire town hall Tuesday was carrying an unlicensed loaded gun, police said.

Richard Terry Young, 62, was arrested inside Portsmouth High School at about 9:40 a.m., long before the president arrived in Portsmouth, Seacoastline.com reported. He faces misdemeanor charges, including trespass and a weapons charge.

Hundreds of protesters greeted Obama.

The demonstrators gathered near Portsmouth High School appeared to be equally divided between supporters and detractors of the president’s healthcare proposals to cover millions of uninsured Americans and bring health costs under control, USA Today reported.

Some of the anti-Obama protesters gathered as early as 6 a.m., carrying handmade signs that spoke of rationing, socialism and death panels, while supporters from pro-Obama organizations such as Organizing for America and Healthcare for America later showed up in buses, USA Today said.

Cousin of rapper MC Hammer appeared in court Monday to answer charges that he raped a 40-year-old woman that he met through the online social networking site Twitter.

Marvin Grant did not enter a plea during the appearance in Pleasanton, Calif. and asked to be assigned a public defender.

 Following his arrest last month, police said Grant met the woman through Twitter and the two exchanged e-mails and phone calls before agreeing to meet at a Livermore hotel July 28. According to court documents, Grant attacked the woman after she declined his advances.      

The 33-year-old, also known as Marv, appears on MC Hammer’s reality show on the A&E cable network. The show follows the rapper and his family at his Tracy home.
