Daammnn … Kim Kardashian Gets $10,000 per Tweet!

Kim is the highest-paid Twitter user listed on ad.ly, an advertising agency that sells in-stream ads on the Twitter accounts of celebrities such as Stephen Colbert, Dr. Drew and Lauren Conrad. With 2.7 million followers, Kim demands $10,000 every time she Tweets about a product, a name drop made more valuable by the fact that ad.ly limits paid Tweets to one per day.

No matter how you spin it, that’s $10,000 per day for very very little work. Sometimes life just isn’t fair. I can’t even picture the day that I get paid for mentioning a product in my normal daily conversations.  I talk about products ALL the time! Do your thang Kimmy!

9 Ways to Nurse Your Hangover

Just in time for the holidays, right? I know many people will be drinking their butts off for Christmas and ESPECIALLY New Year’s.  In order to treat a hangover, it’s important to understand a bit about why a hangover develops.

The most common symptoms of a hangover are:

  • headache,
  • lethargy,
  • nausea,
  • diarrhea, and
  • sensitivity to light and noise.

The exact cause of hangover has not been determined, but dehydration, hormonal changes, and inflammatory effects caused by the breakdown products of alcohol are likely responsible for the symptoms. Since alcohol alters levels of certain brain chemicals known as neurotransmitters, a disrupted sleep pattern with less restful sleep may also contribute to the symptoms of hangover. Hangover is medically also known as vasalgia.

Check out the 9 ways you can help get rid of your hangover, I found these on Life Hackery.

1. Take a Cold Shower

The sudden splash of cold water, which slams onto your torso, gives you a much needed jolt. This rush induces the quick production of adrenaline in the body. The adrenaline, in turn, raises your tolerance for the hangover’s effects. If you take a shower while experiencing a hangover, the headache and the heavy sensation will gradually diminish. They may even disappear if you’re pretty lucky.

2. Sports Drinks

Dehydration, which weakens the body and makes you feel heavy, is one of the dire effects of a hangover. Water comes as a good solution, but the recovery process is a bit too long. Sports drinks are excellent hydrating agents since they contain electrolytes, which promote proper hydration.

3. Sleep Some More

Waiting for a hangover to subside is agonizing, since you have to endure its symptoms for several hours, or even the entire day. You still won’t feel pleasant, even if you take the proper medication. So why bother facing the problem when you can actually sleep through it? Sleeping comes as one of the most effective means of enduring a hangover. Though, it is not easy to pull off, try playing soft music or receive a scalp massage to help you fall asleep.

4. Eat Fruits

Fruits are rich in vitamin C, which is said to combat the symptoms of a hangover. During the height of your hangover, chow down on fruits like the apple, banana, orange and pear. You won’t recover instantly, but the process will be faster. In addition, some fruits are known to influence hydration, dealing with dehydration caused by the hangover.

5. Swim

The swimming pool, in terms of dealing with a hangover, is like an upgrade of the shower room. You are totally immersed in water while inside the pool. The water surrounding and covering your body instantly relieves the hangover’s symptoms. You can also submerge your head if you are suffering from severe headache. When you leave the pool, your hangover is either gone or greatly reduced.

6. Sweat and Urine

Harmful and unnecessary substances inside the body are removed in the process of sweating and urinating, including the traces of ethanol from yesterday night ’s alcohol binge. In dealing with the mid and latter stages of a hangover, exercise appears as one of your best options. It will make you generate sweat while doing your chosen sports activity. The moment you get tired, your body will demand for liquids, which later paves the way for urination.

7. Hot and Spicy

Hot soups, warm beverages and spicy food go hand in hand to help you reduce the symptoms of a hangover. These food products influence sweating, which does wonders against the post-drinking condition. The heat generated from them is also revitalizing. When you have a hangover, take a momentary pause from your usual meals and prioritize these three items, especially the soup.

8. Baking Soda Solution

Baking soda is a kitchen condiment that holds more than a dozen alternative uses. Dealing with a hangover happens to be one of them. Mix some baking soda with water then drink the mixture. The nausea, associated with the hangover, will gradually disappear.

9. Increased Magnesium Intake

Magnesium, being a treatment for migraines, works well against the headache caused by hangovers. Consume a significant amount of the mineral and your headache will gradually fade. The popular sources of magnesium are:

  • vegetables
  • nuts
  • tea
  • cocoa
  • coffee (just be wary of the sugar crash)
  • spices

Foods that contain magnesium are nutritious. Include them in your diet, regardless if you have a hangover or not.

Great Find: Organizing Jewelry/Accessories

Don’t you just hate clutter and mess? I get really frustrated when I cannot find my cute gold bracelet or long black earrings. I currently put most of my jewelry in a big jewelry box, but I stumbled over a GREAT FIND yesterday while shopping at Bed Bath & Beyond.  The first time I saw this was actually at my girl D’s house – and it’s so convenient. Someone gave it to her as a gift so I wasn’t sure where to get one. You can practically place any type of accesory in each pocket! The best part about it – which is lacking from my jewelry box – is the clear vinyl! You can see where you place everything so it is easy to find what you are looking for every time! You can hang it behind your door or in your closet.  You can even fold it up when traveling. And what else? It’s only $9.99 … and you know Bed Bath & Beyond always sends you those 20% coupons (which I found out today that they NEVER expire even though there is an expiration date on there.  My co-worker saves all her 20% coupons and continues to use the expired ones when needed). I totally recommend this! Efficient and Affordable =]

From Bed Bath & Beyond – $9.99

Congrats Hank and Kendra!

Just five days after the birth of Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett’s son, Hank Baskett IV, the tiny tyke is already making his big debut via the cover of OK!

“He’s a perfect baby,” the E! star tells the magazine. “I’m very, very happy.”

“I just said, ‘I love you so much.’ I couldn’t stop saying ‘I love you,’” recalls Hank upon first meeting him.

As for dealing with the nerves that came just before little Hank’s arrival?

“I ate a whole bunch of brownies,” says the new mom, adding with a laugh, “No wonder he’s 9 pounds!”

…………………………………………………………………….

I actually watched the special episode of Kendra giving birth to her lil man on Sunday.  Hank and Kendra are soooooo cute together =] I kind of want them to stop doing reality tv so that they don’t get hit with the reality tv relationship break-up curse! They seem extremely in love and excited about their family and future together. Hank is a sweet guy and Kendra is so bubbly and silly. I know Hank got dropped from the Eagles and he’s currently a free agent now, but I seriously hope someone picks him up so that he can bring some bread home for the family.  Kendra had me crackin up when she mentioned that Hank Jr. had a big head like her and how she’s happy that she’s gonna get hips from giving childbirth! I totally felt her on the 2nd quote cuz I sure need some hips myself! Congrats!
