Drake’s “Forever” Video: 180 of “Best I Ever Had” (Good! That’s How it Should Be!)

Forever: Drake, Kanye, Lil' Wayne and Eminem (I LOVEEE THIS SONG btw)
(MTV News) In regards to Drake’s “Successful” video — which premiered late last month, reactions were a bit mixed, with many critics loving the clip and many fans reacting with confusion. So, Drake has pulled a 180 with his follow-up video, the very big, very brash “Forever,” which — in addition to copious explosions and flashing lights — features cameos from NBA star LeBron James (the song is featured on the soundtrack to the James documentary “More Than a Game”) and a lot of rappers you might have heard of: Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Eminem (who is joined by Slaughterhouse) — and Hype Williams directed it. Somber this one isn’t!
Now, the ramifications of having co-stars of this magnitude have already been debated, but suffice it to say, landing four of the hottest MCs in the world (and the reigning NBA MVP) for his video is a pretty good look for Drake, who at 22 has already accomplished something that takes even superstar MCs years to do: line up a legendary posse-cut, then deliver on the hype.
With a lineup like that, a performance clip is really the only way to go, and that’s what’s been done here: The real thrill is seeing Wayne, West, Em and Drake in the same music video! This is a blockbuster of the highest order, a big-budget, big-explosion event, and fans (especially those who weren’t fans of “Successful”) will lap it up.
Girltalk 24/7: Oo! I can’t wait til I see the video, and it BETTER be worth the wait. Best I ever had I felt was so boring, I mean, for an artist with the magnitude like DRAKE? I guess he got the clue that his first video was pretty dry and figured he was going to make up for it this time around. I noticed that Lebron has been really crossing into the entertainment industry with acting and now cameos in music videos? Hmmm, wonder if Lebron can rap?? Anyways, let’s cross our fingers that Kanye doesn’t interrupt Drake’s solo verse during the video!!!! lmao!!!!! ok, ok, no more kanye vma jokes …
Lil’ Wayne’s AMW Tour Banked Around $42M – Largest for a Rap Outing Ever!

Wayne, Drake, Jeezy, Soulja Boy, Jerimih (some of the artists featured in AMW Tour)
It’s been that kind of year for Lil Wayne. In addition to smashing the sales chart with his Tha Carter III album, Wayne killed it in concert ticket sales as well. According to
Billboard, Weezy’s 2008-2009 I Am Music and America’s Most Wanted tours banked around $42 million total, making for the biggest hip-hop tour of the year and possibly the largest grosses for a rap outing that Billboard has ever tracked.
The 78 dates Wayne and company headlined in North American arenas and amphitheaters from December 14, 2008, through September 6, 2009, pulled nearly 804,000 fans, according the rapper’s tour producer and tour business manager; the current tour wraps up Thursday night (September 10) in Mansfield, Massachusetts, before heading over to England in October for three dates.
Wayne’s AMW tour was filled with pyro, pole dancing, plenty of rock guitar and support from Young Jeezy, Soulja Boy Tell’em, Jeremih, Pleasure P, Birdman, the rapper’s Young Money All-Stars crew and, before he blew out his knee again, Drake. During his I Am Music jaunt, Wayne was supported by a rotating series of guests that included T-Pain, Gym Class Heroes, Keyshia Cole and Keri Hilson. Aside from Wayne’s iconic status — and 3.2 million in sales for Tha Carter III, Gee said the eclectic mix of opening acts is one of the reasons the tour was able to reach so many different segments of the rapper’s diverse audience.
Wayne’s often-delayed next album, Rebirth, is currently scheduled for a November 24 release
“We definitely want to capitalize on the success we’ve had and want to continue building Wayne as a touring artist and not just an artist that tours,” Shawne Gee (producer) said. “We established him as a headline artist and I think it grows from there.”
Drake and His Take on Older Women

Drake
In the remix to Fabolous’ “Put It in the Bag,” his verse was actually inspired by a previous relathionship he had with an older woman.
“I used to talk to this woman that was 35-plus,” Drake laughed. “I’m a mature individual.”
At the time, he was a barely 20-year-old upstart MC. Aside from simply enjoying dating a more experienced woman, Drake said he was drawn to her perspective — she framed the world much differently than he did at the time.
“It was kind of, like, what she saw in me,” the 22-year-old explained. “I say in the song, ‘She just wants that feeling back, I make her feel young again.’ We were doing things young people do, like just going swimming late at night. Just chilling, drinking, like kicking it, talking. But it was so intriguing for me. The appeal was obvious. I think I can also maybe even say I felt guilty to the fact that it was a bit of a story to tell, that’s why I was doing it. But I like older women, period. I never end up dating — seriously — women that are my age.”
The Lil Wayne protégé went on to add that more often than not he finds himself in relationships with women pushing 30. “Maybe it’s the way I carry myself,” he said.
As for that particular older woman?
“When I hear that song now on the radio, I just laugh,” Drake said. “I wonder if she ever hears it. I lost contact with her.”

It’s refreshing to know that Drake raps/sings about his real life experiences. I like the fact that he likes older women because that usually means he is into women who are mature, know what they want and don’t play games.
Closer to My Dreams by Drake
Thanks to my girl Marie Cris, she introduced me to this addicting song. I can listen to it for hours. Below are the lyrics, I LOVE IT!!!! Enjoy …
Closer to My Dreams Lyrics
Intro: Drake talking]
Yea…i remember me and me and d used to talk about this stuff all the time, like what its gon be like when you get close to your dreams. I aint know much then, but i could probly tell you a lil somethin now
Mr. Big. Dreams no tolerant
Cut you off at the house and hadnt hollered since
Get bored quickly
He stay blowed
So the p-a-trón ’bout to get poured quickly
Ex girl strippin, I can’t stop her
New girl trippin but I can’t drop her
Cuz I need somethin to balance out the fact
That it’s hard to find a woman when you talented and black
When you hollerin at labels
And they silencing you back
Cuz you fail to thoroughly discuss some violence on ya track
Well, gunshots for the young yacht owner
Seens there’s everybody else, then there’s one top loner
First place is often the worst place
But fuck it I love it here I call it my birthplace
Whenever I walk in they makin the worst face
Surrounded by Filipinos I think of the worst case
watch blown, green diamonds I call it the earth face
Im gettin ya cake I tell u how your dessert tastes
I get a dessert plate, yall eat pedigree as ya meal
I been Urkel for some years
It’s better being Jaleel
Though I rock, lean, snap
It’s better bein as real
It’s better drivin a car with the letter “B” in the wheel
Seat back, light sayin Tank on E
I got the drank on me
You can bank on me
To be the one and only nigga dat you ain’ gon see
In the club wit da models spillin drinks on me
Nawh, gimme 20 and a tank on three
I’m in the Range bumpin Keyshia Cole singin off-key like (wuhhh)
I’ma spare yall, why you wanna judge me?
I don’t neva compare yall
The city is mine
I know it cuz I’m there yall
It ain’t even started I’m really tryna prepare yall
Drake ’07, second quarter I’m droppin
Do it without a label, man I’m committed and poppin
Take ova da summer, tour to tour hoppin
I’ma meet a lot a women, I’ma do a lot of shoppin
Really no other option
Spend a lot a money just to make it back
Anybody I diss in a song I don’t take it back
Same rappers that’s all in your face sayin Drake is whack
But checkin my availability just to make a track
I promise mama, I’ma do it cuz I kno I put you through it
I know I put you through it baby
And I just want you to sit around wit ya friends at a dinner table
And say my baby’s famous and i knew it
And it wasn’t nuttin to it
I’m drawing the drawing til da pen run out of fluid
[Drake: Talking]
Yeah
I’d like to introduce you to the first lady of the ATF
[Singing:]
Closer to my dreams (Miss Andrina Mill)
I’m gettin’ higher
Yeah (Yeah man)
I feel it in my sleep (Sing it to ‘em baby)
I said I’m gettin’ higher
Yeah
And closer to my dreams
Whoa
Sometimes it feels like I’ll never move on
Closer to my dreams
[Verse 2:]
Look
I took a plane to Hawaii with D
And we was trippin’ off of the speed at which life progress
From meetin’ Trey in Atlanta to doin’ a cameo in his video has made everything right with ex (Songz)
I got too many records and not enough shows
Too many rappers and not enough-
Well
You can fill the blank in
They tryna be the best
Just tryna place in the rankin’
They can’t
Play pen drop out
The gray ten drop out
Summer 05 with the gray Benz drop out
Charcoal charger
Racin’ through back streets
On my Craig David shit the awful dodger
Showed her I’mma
I told her I’mma
Bout to get my run-on so hold the commas
Times changed now I’m older mama
And these niggas ain’t solid they fold in drama
And that’s the realest shit I ever wrote
A compilation of mental thoughts that I never note
And hi, haters
I’m back off of hiatus
How ya album doin’?
I’m gettin’ cake off of my latest
Anticipated like the iPhone
Respected in any city that I roam
Summertime
Wintertime
Dinnertime
Anytime
Bet I am the nigga in my town when I arrive
Home
[Chorus]
[Outro: Drake talking]
