The first lady, Michelle Obama and US Soccer Foundation President and CEO Ed Foster-Simeon supported local school kids while they participated in a youth soccer clinic March 5, 2010 in Washington, DC. The clinic is to promote the national fight against childhood obesity and in support for the first lady’s “Let’s Move!” campaign that encourage children to get 60 minutes of active play each day. Michelle is totally awesome for this =)
I found out on Huffington Post that former ‘Happy Days’ star Scott Baio says he is receiving death threats over Twitter after posting an unflattering photo of Michelle Obama with an insulting caption.
Baio is a vocal Republican who had been tweeting breathlessly about Scott Brown’s victory before he made this attempt at a joke about the first lady.
THIS WAS THE TWITTER INCIDENT:
“WOW He wakes up to this every morning,” Baio tweeted, along with this photo featured above.
His followers were not amused and began leaving him instructions to kill himself and calling him a racist idiot and worse. Baio did himself no favors by trying to prove his lack of racism.
“I’m NOT racist for posting a pic of M.O. My WIFE’S BEST FRD IS BLACK,HELLO” he tweeted.
And: “Do I look like I’m racist? This is Renee’s BEST frd. STOP USING THE RACE CARD!!!” Here is a picture Baio tweeted of himself with said black person:
Further evidence of his tolerance of black people: “If I’m racist, don’t think I would have Directed shows like The Parkers & The Wayans Bros. or worked 41 eps w/ Victoria Rowell on D.Murder”
Baio later tweets that his following has swelled to 5000 because “people love to hate.” He leaves us with a promise that the FBI is after all death threaters and this:
“For New followers: I POST A LOT OF JOKES WITH PICS. They are JUST that, a joke. NOT targeting anyone. Laughter IS the best medicine.”
I think it’s hilarious when someone is accused of being racist and they use the “I have a [fill in the race] friend though” card as if that just writes off any offense to a racial statement they made. Like, who cares if you have ONE friend of a different race, that does not mean you do not have racist beliefs and talk about these different races behind their backs!
In this case, I don’t think Scott was even being racist … just offensive. Basically insulting Michelle Obama’s physical. I don’t know how his followers got it twisted by saying that he’s racist. But since he did not hesitate to try to prove that he is not a racist, I guess he’ll take the blame for the time being.

The first lady showed off her hula hoop skills Wednesday as she rocked her hips to an impressive 142 swings before the hoop fell to the ground. Michelle Obama was hosting a “healthy kids fair” on the South Lawn of the White House, where she also ran barefoot through an obstacle course and jumped rope with visiting school children.
While her hula hoop skills are undoubtedly impressive, Michelle ran into some trouble with the jump ropes. She tried and failed 3 times to jump into a round of double dutch before deciding she was better off running the obstacle course.
In addition to running and playing outside, Michelle encouraged the roughly 100 kids in attendance to eat healthy foods like the zucchini quesadillas handed out at the event. Michelle admitted that her favorite food is french fries, and she said she tells daughters Sasha and Malia that it’s OK to eat things like burgers and cake occasionally as long as they balance it with a healthy diet.
“I tell my girls this: If you’re getting the right foods for most of the time, then when it’s time to have cake and french fries on those special occasions, then you balance it out,” she said.

The first family walked to St. John’s Church on Sunday morning, two blocks from the White House to attend prayer services. The first lady wore a pink dress with a printed cardigan, decorative brown bow, and pale pink kitten heels. See photos below of the Obamas rocking their Sunday’s Best.

Mrs. O Loves the Kids
Michelle Obama is heading back to Sesame Street to teach Big Bird, Ernie and friends how to plant vegetable seeds. She’ll appear on the show for the second time since she’s been in the White House, and will be the special guest for the first episode of the 40th season of the program.
The First Lady was so happy and uber excited about stopping by Sesame Street earlier this year to film a PSA — she said it was the best thing she’d gotten to do so far as First Lady.
It couldn’t be a better topic for Mrs. O to share with kids from all over the world, as she is all about gardening in real life. She recently started the White House’s first vegetable garden.
Michelle Obama’s Sesame Street episode will air November 10. Other celebs, like Cameron Diaz, Eva Longoria-Parker and Kobe Bryant, are scheduled to make appearances during the season as well.
