New Video: Big Sean f/ Nicki Minaj – “Dance (A$$)”

In his brand new video, Big Sean sits on his throne as the Fresh Prince of A$$, while Nicki Minaj shows that she’s the queen of it.

It’s definitely Hammer Time in the “Dance (A$$)” video, but instead of recreating MC Hammer’s infamous “Can’t Touch This” shots, Big Sean throws a party and pays homage to the opening sequence from “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” (circular camera angles included).

We also get to enjoy a screen full of “ass” in several different languages, and a playful Nicki Minaj showing us how she likes to wind and shake her rump while covered in the British flag.

Love it or Above it?: Nicki Minaj’s Hot Pink Fried Chicken Wing Pendant

At last weekend’s iHeartRadio concert where every single relevant artist was in attendance, different styles were loudly mixed together under one roof.  Amongst the pool of talent included Nicki Minaj, who possibly wore the weirdest accessory on a female rap artist: a hot pink fried chicken wing.

Seems like Nicki has been trying to compete with Gaga’s bizarre fashion as of late, but can she still make it hot? Call me crazy but I would wear this. Not with her whole ballerina ensemble above, but I love hot pink, fried chicken and gold chains =) A measure of confidence goes a long way whenever you are stepping outside the box. As long as you feel good, you can convince others it looks good!

Nicki Minaj speaks on self-discovery and being in control of her brand in the latest issue of V Magazine.

“I just always want to do ‘me,’ but ‘me’ changes every day. I would crumple up and die if I had to wake up and be the same person every day. I don’t silence those voice anymore. I just let them speak.”

“Everything I do has been approved by me personally. My team is mostly made up of guys, but none of them would ever think about telling me what to wear or what to do with my hair. They know that ultimately I am going to do what I’m gonna do.”

Nicki Minaj Celebrates Platinum Status w/ a Sexy Photoshoot

Upon hearing the news that her debut album has gone platinum, what better way fro Nicki Minaj to celebrate than with a sexy photo shoot that showed off her famous bottom perfectly?

And as pink is her favourite colour, it came as no surprise to see the rapper flaunt her booty in a hot pink corset with a tight matching jacket.

And she left even less to the imagination for the second photo in which she arches her back and toots for the camera in a black lacy body stocking.

The Trinidad and Tobago-born star released the photos upon hearing that Pink Friday had gone platinum in the US. The album was released in November last year and sold one million copies. It went platinum status on December 17th, just one month after it was released.

And on Wednesday, Nicki took to her Twitter page to declare:

‘Pink Friday remains the #2 Rap Album and the #4 Album in the country on Billboard’s 200. Thank you for your continued support.’

Nicki Minaj Wants a “Super Aggressive” Man

Nicki Minaj is gracing the cover of the upcoming March/April 2011 issue of King Magazine. She discusses movie roles and wanting an aggressive man in the issue which will be available everywhere early January.

Check out an excerpt from the interview below:

What would be your dream role?

I’d like to play someone in a Tim Burton movie, where I get dressed up and painted and crazy.

You kind of do that now.

Then I want to be able to do some action stuff, like Angelina Jolie.

Like in Salt?

Yes! And then I’d like to just play a regular girl who, you know, is facing the world. Something really sentimental and organic, that girls all around the world can identify with. You know, how Jada Pinkett Smith did in Jason’s Lyric.

Classic film. You did mention earlier how everything has been time consuming. But when that time frees up, what kind of guy do you look for to be sentimental and organic with?

Um, I look for someone who is calm, someone who is strong enough to not have to win every argument, someone who allows a woman to be her crazy self and someone with a conscience not to feel less of a man. You know, someone who is able to honor his woman but also bring out the freak in his woman.

How should your Ken bring out the freak in you, Barbie?

Just being super aggressive when the time is right.

Are we talking about Mortal Kombat–style “Come here” aggression?

Just something that makes me feel like they’re in control, when we are behind closed doors.

VH1 Divas Salute the Troops

On Friday night, stars such as Katy Perry, Kathy Griffin, Brandy, and more hit the road for San Diego to take part in the VH1 Divas Salute the Troops concert presented by the USO.

Hosted by Kathy at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, newlywed Katy stole the show with performances of “California Gurls,” “Teenage Dream,” and more.

Russell Brand’s wife joined Nicki Minaj on stage later on for rendition of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” according to MTV.

Keri Hilson, Grace Potter, Nancy Wilson and Sugarland also took to the stage to salute the troops, with special guest appearances by Marissa Miller, Brandy, and Jersey Shore’s Mike Sorrentino and Snooki Polizzi.

Paramore and Hayley Williams also performed via satellite with pre-taped acts.
